3 class of protection from sparks, weld spatter and slag
A specially designed suit featuring the maximum amount of cloth reinforcement to provide a high degree of protection against burning through from the high temperatures used during welding operations.
On the jacket: cloth reinforcements on the front, sides and back yoke, pass from the front to the back. No shoulder seams are used because of the possibility of the thread connecting the shoulder seam burning off during overhead welding; cloth reinforcements cover the entire sleeves except for the armpit areas; openings located there allow for ventilation.
On the trousers: inseams reinforcements (length at least 15 cm long from above the knee line to the bottom, and at least 7 cm wide); reinforced patches along trouser bottom back, at least 15 cm high.
Design: the jacket features a right-side concealed button fastener with an additional protective inside placket. This central concealed cover prevents contact of accessories with equipment and tools. The inside placket and inside cuffs are made of fire-retardant fabric to provide increased protection against sparks penetrating inside the garment. The sleeve design corresponds to the main arm position used during welding, and therefore the welder's arms get less tired. An underarm gusset on the sleeve provides for comfortable motion. Ventilation openings in the armpit areas and in back of the shoulder provide for sufficient air to offset the density of the garment fabric. The jacket pocket design eliminates metal spatter and slag settling in the pocket. An inside breast pocket on the left provides for documents. There is a "Tp" badge on the sleeve.
Trousers with inside knee pad pockets for workers who have to spend extended time on their knees(or on one knee) in a confined space. Button fasteners in side seams and a zipper in the middle seam, is provided for convenience. Additional buttons are provided on the waistband for size adjustment. The waistband has belt loops that can accommodate a wide belt. There is a patch pocket on the right, and a tip marker pocket with a flap fastened with a concealed snap button. For convenience, the trousers are completed with elasticized bib straps.
Outside yellow and grey seams are stitched with fire-retardant threads. There is a name-tag on the jacket and on the trousers for identification when laundering or dry-cleaning.
Fire-retardant reflective tape on the jacket back and along the trouser bottom, and bright yellow insets increase the visibility of the wearer.
