For respiratory protection against cold air hazard and reduction of body heat losses through breathing at low (to –50°C) ambient temperature. Mask accumulates thermal energy from a portion of exhalation and heats a portion of inhalation to the comfort temperature thus increases the worker's resource during a long stay out-of-doors at low temperatures. Mask facilitates quick restoration of the body temperature and limbs of the freezing man in the cold and frost.
The mask is an additional active element of body heat exchanging system providing general favorable stabilizing effect due to creation of balanced breathing conditions of temperature and humidity.
Fields of application: works in the open or at unheated premises in winter, rescue activities, sports, tourism, hunting, fishing and all cases of thermal discomfort.
Operating principle: the main element of heat accumulating mask is a thermal unit which is a capacitance reversible heat exchanger. The thermal unit accumulates the exhalation thermal energy and transfers it to the inhaled air portion heating cold inhaled air up to comfort temperature.
The main advantages of this design are:
Method of application:
One mask must not be used by several persons.
In case of everyday use it is necessary to perform disinfection with ozonizer or in alcoholic vapors not less than once in a fortnight. The latter scheme should be as follows:
The thermal unit service life does not exceed 1000 hours.
The mask and the thermal unit are made of the material which has no adverse effect on human body. It is necessary to avoid direct contact of moisture with the thermal unit surface. In case of contact with moisture it is necessary to dry the thermal unit at +20°C to +60°C until its functions are restored.
As of today no side effects of using thermal mask have been detected, but developers let in a possibility of individual reaction.
In case of appearing any discomfort or unpleasant sensations when breathing through a mask its usage shall be stopped.
